Look at this picture taken today. I spot some changes and the first tier is taking shape, with the result that stairs are needed.

Compare with this older picture from 3rd October.

And now a close up today – this is the start of the first tier.

…there is also a new green set of stairs at the front.

and a winding scaffold staircase leading up for a good view into the evolving arena.

The design of the stadium is a bowl intended to hold around eighty thoussand seats over 2 tiers. In early 2008 we could already see the work had begun.

By the end of summer cranes the foundations were finished and erected for the building of the structure to begin.
